David Oates
David Oates won the 2015 poetry publication prize at Swan Scythe press for The Heron Place. His previous poetry book came from Oyster River (1992). He has been finalist in many contests, including the Pablo Neruda Award (Nimrod). Recent poems have appeared in Orion, Rattle, December, and Cirque. His work has appeared in several public art projects, including being engraved in the sidewalk at a light-rail station (because who doesn’t enjoy some poetry underfoot?)
